Hi

I think is not possible to put an IP range like xxx.xxx.*.*
Only a range with * at the end is authorized xxx.xxx.xxx.*

For the second anwer yes the name is localized.
In french you must write "Authentification Windows" instead of "Windows Authentication" because the display name is used in the code

Nope, that did not work...
Still at a loss here...

Could it be a localization error? Change "Windows Authentication" in "Windows-verificatie"?

In the configuration you have a property call SignInPageMappings.
In this property you can put the url to your custom login page for Forms user with the key "default"

Hello

I use fiddler to see what's wrong in the authentication steps when I use autosignin page instead of default page

When the autosignin page is used the redirect method call authentication.aspx page. In "normal way" this page is not call.

Here you can see the fiddler capture for the normalway

When I use the autosignin page the fiddler capture show

It's appair the access denied is fired when the user try to access again to the authenticate.aspx page.

Hello

This solution works perfectly with login to a web site.
But when I try to open a word document I have some trouble with FBA authentication.
When Microsoft Word starts it asks me for credentials, or when I put on the form I have an access denied error although these credential are used to connect to the site.

Do you know this issue? It's a problem of configuration ?

My frist guess is that you missed a few characters in the IP range.
Try this instead: $config.ProviderMappings.Add("10.128.*.*", "Windows Authentication")

Hi,

I've configured the auto sign-in solution today

internal IP's are logged in directly. this is fine
external IP's are redirected to the SharePoint 2010 default login page for Forms users.

Now I want to redirect the external users to a custom login page.
The login page is located here: ~/_layouts/CustomLoginPage/Login.aspx

How can this be done?

I was able to fix this issue on my side.
At first I registered the assembly from the /Framework/ directory instead of the /Framework64/

Hello,
I keep getting a blank page during the redirect to the autosignin.aspx.

In the providermapping I added my own ip-address (for test purposes) with different wildcard notations... like $config.ProviderMappings.Add("10.128*", "Windows Authentication")
Everything in this range would use Active Directory to automatically login to Sharepoint, correct?

I have no clue how to solve this... Please advice?

Has anyone considered whether this project would provide a good basis to a solution for SP authentication in a mixed browser environment where not every client has IE with WIA enabled? We are looking at how to improve the authentication experience for iPad users (currently a separate basic auth prompt for each sub domain/ web app). We need seamless NTLM/Kerberos authentication to work as normal for 99.9% of users, but reduce Logon fatigue for iPad users. Replacing the IP mapping with a user-agent mapping, and perhaps adding some cross sub-domain session handling would seem feasible. Session handling is of interest iso that we could prompt for FBA only once per session across all SP web apps with a common top level domain. We have home.ourdomain.com, people.ourdomain.com, communities.ourdomain.com, etc so want to avoid a basic auth or FBA for each web app. ADFS would probably do it, but seems like overkill for a few iPad users. Got it figured out.

Download the source code - edit in VS AutoSignIn.cs

In the documentation comments I found the following information

To set the default login page (the page that will be used if no IP match) use default as key value:
$config.SingInPageMappings.Add("default","<path>")
$config.Update()

My question is: if I want to set the default login page to the multi-authentication page would I set it like this

$config.SingInPageMappings.Add("default","_/login/default.aspx")
